Shattered Sword Powers Activate!
Here we have the last two of my painted Shattered Swords. The indomitable Naverre Hauer and the walking mortar cannon that is Darkspace Fiametta.
Naverre is a brute but mobile too, those thrusters on his back can be put to good use. Paint wise his armor is done up in morrow white and the gold/green potions were done similarly to that which was done on Sebastian, by doing the green undertone then dry brushing the gold over it. His face was done in ryn flesh with a flesh wash applied to it then a little more ryn flesh to bring back out the highlights. I'm actually rather happy with his face details as the wash really pulled them out. other bits of his armor are detailed in shining silver and fortress grey. Finally there are points on his armor that need a detail touch so I gave Nihilakh Oxide a try and it turned out great.
Darkspace Fiametta was a far less detail oriented job to paint. Her fleshtone was again ryn flesh, my go to flesh coloring. her hair was started as underbelly blue then blended and shaded down to the tip trying to match her card. The majority of her skirts and sleeves was done in a bright yellow that needed a few coats to take than the then the purple/maroon bits were done next. Her staff was done with more shining silver and arcane blue in the center.
Of course both models are based on Alien Temple bases from Secret Weapons Miniatures.
And that my friends finishes off the painted Shatter Swords I have so far. There is one more model from their army I have yet to paint since I just got her, Jeanne Romee, but she'll have to wait a bit till I get an airbrush or base coat my next set of models. Instead we're going to move on to the Star Nebula Corsairs next, YAAAARRRRRR!!!!!

Those Eyes....
And here we have Isabeau Durrand and her Purifier Squad. I don't think I'm done with these guys yet, mostly it's the faces I'm not yet hapy with and Isabeau's derp eyes... sigh... not my best work unfortunately. Things I'd probably change will be to see if the soft body wash can bring out a little more facial features and I may try to add more eye detail, otherwise they aren't in bad shape.
Paint scheme wise, they share the same basics of morrow white for the armor, and Cygnar base blue, however the purifier skirts were done in a green who's name escapes me at the moment and I believe I used coal tar grey for Isabeau's darker parts. Shining silver and brass balls were used for the metallics and the bases are of course more Secret Weapons Miniatures Alien Temple bases.
Here are a few more closer up shots of the ladies.
Up next, Naverre Hauer and Darkspace Fiametta!

A Bird in hand is worth....
Better late than never, here's Quill, Francis's Cypher. Where I love the utility that Francis as a questing knight brings and the punishment he deals back when you try to nail him, Quill doesn't bring much except he's got fly and thus I can move him to generally always be in Line of Sight with Francis... well that and I push I think, but I haven't had opportunity to really use that functionality.
Paintwise, he's primarily Cygnar base blue with some morrow white on his wings and feathering. I also washed his white parts in blue ink which I rather like. I believe the orange used for his beak and feet is either Ember Orange or Heartfire. He also has a Torque on his neck which I did in brass balls and arcane blue for the gemstone. Due to a lack of good contact points I did end up having to pin him to the base but at least there was enough material to create a very decent pinning so he's not leaving this base anymore. Speaking of the base, still using the Alien Temple base from Secret Weapons Miniatures.
Next up we'll have the Purifier Squad and their leader, Isabeau.

His only weakness, STAIRS
And here we have Sebastian Cross and his Cypher Rook. Ahhhh.. Sebastian, I may have only played two games with you but I already love your completely broken tankiness and ability to chase shit around the board in a mind numbingly slow fashion and absorb ALL the damage.
These two got painted by the fiance' and I gotta say I was impressed with the results she got. She did up the body portions in shining silver and morrow white, then used I believe fortress grey on the foot sections for highlighting. The ribbons and cape sections we did the same way as before with Cygnar base blue and brass balls to add the metallic gold. The impressive part was the shoulders and other shielded parts that she did green, then dry brushed over with the brass balls to give it the filigree look. The only thing I might change is to try to define Sebastian's eyes a bit more and his face, but there's not a lot of space to work with there so I'm holding off for now.
Look for another post later tonight with Quill, Francis' Cypher whom I need to repair after a little show battle damage then will snap a good shot of.

A wise old man once said....
Today's entry is Francis Mallory, Questing Knight of the Shattered Sword Paladin's. Francis is the wise old warrior of the bunch, and given how old he is in this kinda profession, you gotta watch out for his tricks, and boy does he have a bunch that make him fun to play with.
For painting I did his face with Ryn flesh, then his hair in underbelly blue. His armor is Cygnar base blue and this I washed with armor wash and a light drybrush of metalic silver to give it a metal look. the rest of his armor plates are the morrow white I've been using and also some brass balls for the other metal highlight coloring. His cape is also cygnar base blue and then highlights with cygnar blue highlight and arcane blue.
The base I have him on is a alien temple base from Secret Weapons Miniatures.
Tomarrow, the one and only big guy himself, the mobile tank Sebastian Cross and his Cypher Rook, I'll also include a picture of Francis' cypher since I don't have a pic of him up yet either.

An Ogre and a Pair-a-gon's walk into a bar...
Okie dokie folks, today we have Austrican the Ogre and a set of two Paragon's. I actually asked Chris, my fiance' to do Austrican and I did a little extra detail touch to his gem on his neck, but beyond that it's all her. The only think we might change on him later is to give him a wash with the soft body to see if we can draw out a little more detail but for now he looks fantastic.
The Paragon's... I dunno, I think they are a bit of a mix of happy and not. On one side I tried something with them where I based them white, then washed them in black wash to draw out the gaps in their armor which I'm really happy with. I then did another coat of morrow white over that to bring out the armor color and then did the highlights with cygnar base blue and brass balls. I'm not quite sure I like the coat I got on them at least in this picture however if I ever redo them it'll be once I get my hands on an airbrush and can get some nice smooth layers on them.
The bases on both are again Alien Temple bases from Secret Weapon Miniatures with a gunmetal paint for the most part and a black wash over them. Tomarrow we'll post one of my questing knights, Francis Malory.

Shattered Sword Paladin Painting Progress - Swordsworn
Hiya Folks! Figured it was time to formalize this mini painting thing and thus here we are. I'm starting things off with my Shattered Sword Paladin's. Here we have my Swordsworn, the meat and potatoes unit as it were for the army. These guys take a licking and keep on trucking, even for a squad. For paint I primarily used P3 paints such are morrow white, cygnar base blue, and brass balls. I also used the P3 blue ink wash to bring out the details on them a bit more. For their capes I highlighted with some arcane blue. The bases I have them on are Secret Weapons Alien Temple bases that were painted with Gun Metal for the most part then washed in a black ink to weather the look up.
I also tried to bring out a little more detail with a flesh wash on one of them but I'm not quite happy with it yet and I might try hitting them up with the soft body black Secret Weapons wash I picked up at Templecon and see if that brings out some more detail. More pics tomarrow when we show off Austrican the Ogre and the Paragons.
